In this dynamic role, you will provide compassionate animal care, ensure a safe and clean environment, and assist prospective adopters in finding their perfect furry companions. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere that promotes animal well-being and community engagement. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with animals while supporting adoption efforts and educating the public about responsible pet ownership. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and administering basic veterinary treatments as needed Handle animals safely and humanely, utilizing proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress Assist with training activities such as dog training exercises to improve behavior and socialization skills Educate visitors and potential adopters about pet care, behavioral needs, and adoption processes to ensure informed decisions Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or move animals within the facility Skills Excellent customer service abilities to engage with visitors, adopters, and community members positively Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, bending and stooping and standing for extended periods of time Compassionate attitude combined with proactive communication skills to foster a supportive environment for animals and people alike
