Responsibilities As a Dog Trainer on our Austin team, you'll help dogs and their owners build happier, more successful relationships through professional training and exceptional customer service. Provide professional dog training services, working hands-on with both dogs and their owners Build strong, lasting relationships through consistent communication with clients and team members Represent Suburban K9 with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm in the community Collaborate with your Manager and fellow trainers to provide an outstanding client experience Maintain accurate records and communicate client progress with the team Continue developing your skills while contributing to a positive, supportive team environment What We're Looking For (Requirements) We're seeking an experienced, motivated Dog Trainer who is passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently while collaborating with a supportive team. 2+ years of experience working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity 2+ years of experience in a customer service role Strong, professional communication skills, both verbal and written Proven ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple responsibilities Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate Passion for providing an exceptional experience for every client Schedule This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) focused on professional dog training, client communication, and serving clients throughout the Austin area. New trainers complete a comprehensive 4-6 month training program before transitioning to a more flexible schedule. Training Program You'll receive extensive, hands-on training designed to prepare you for long-term success as a Suburban K9 Dog Trainer. During your 4-6 month training period, you will: Train alongside experienced Suburban K9 trainers and shadow client appointments Work hands-on with Board & Train dogs under the guidance of seasoned trainers Develop advanced dog training skills, including handling aggression and other challenging behaviors Learn Suburban K9's training methods, policies, and procedures Complete classroom instruction and virtual training sessions with team members from across the country Build the confidence and experience needed to successfully manage your own client caseload Location Your work will take you throughout the Austin area, meeting clients in their homes and in public spaces, collaborating with your Territory Manager and fellow trainers, and working remotely from home. We do not have a brick-and-mortar location, so all training and client support takes place where it best serves our clients. Travel throughout the territory is required, and all travel time is paid. Compensation Pay starts at $24.00 per hour, with trainers who have 10+ years of experience earning up to $30.00 per hour after a training period!
