Kennel Technician

About us Williams-Sebby Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort A kennel technician, also known as a kennel assistant or kennel tech, oversees the animals and kennels at our veterinary clinic and pet resort. This job role is traditionally a starting point for those looking to break into the veterinary industry without certifications and working experience. As a kennel technician, your duties include cleaning and maintaining the kennels, doing laundry, giving pets their food, walking dogs, overseeing play and swim time, and providing limited bathing services. You may work with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and our groomer, who oversee additional aspects of the animal's health and well-being while they are boarding. This job is physically demanding, requiring full shifts on your feet and lots of walking. Must be able to walk large dogs confidently and manage multiple tasks at once. Will require bending, stooping, and kneeling, as well as lifting 50 lbs or more. Must be a dog lover and be comfortable with dogs, cats, exotics, etc. with different temperaments. Training and coaching will be provided to qualified candidates to increase animal handling skills.
