About Us We are a growing pet care and training facility dedicated to providing exceptional care, enrichment, and training for every dog entrusted to us. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Kennel Technician who genuinely enjoys working with animals and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Please note:
We will be relocating to East Downtown Houston in the near future. Candidates must be willing and able to transition to the new location upon opening. Position Summary As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, comfort, and happiness of the dogs in our care. This position requires someone who is attentive, physically active, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care and facility cleanliness. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, watering, exercising, and monitoring their well-being. Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, play yards, and common areas. Observe animal behavior and health, promptly reporting concerns to management. Safely handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. Assist with bathing and basic grooming services as needed. Reinforce training exercises and positive behaviors under staff direction. Administer medications as directed and according to established protocols. Maintain accurate records regarding feeding, medications, behavior, and care provided. Follow all safety, sanitation, and animal handling procedures. Assist with facility opening, closing, and daily operational tasks. Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with pet owners. Qualifications Previous experience working with dogs in a kennel, daycare, boarding, grooming, veterinary, rescue, or training environment is preferred. Strong understanding of dog behavior and safe handling techniques. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Reliable transportation and excellent attendance. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the day. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Passion for animal welfare and providing outstanding care.
