Job Description

Job Overview:
As a Structured Daycare Attendant, your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and positive engagement of dogs enrolled in our Structured Daycare program. This role involves supervising small indoor and outdoor playgroups, providing individual attention, and implementing enrichment activities. Your commitment to using positive reinforcement training techniques and fostering a safe and enriching environment is crucial for the success of this role.
Responsibilities:
Small Group Supervision:
Oversee small indoor and outdoor playgroups, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs. Maintain a keen understanding of dog behavior to facilitate positive social interactions.
Individual Attention:
Provide one-on-one attention to each dog, catering to their energy levels and socialization needs. Customize interactions to promote a positive and balanced experience for every canine participant.
Enrichment Breaks:
Implement structured enrichment breaks using Stuffed Kongs, LikiMats, Snuffle Mats, or Bully Sticks during downtime. Monitor and adjust enrichment activities based on individual dogs' preferences and needs.
Outdoor Leash Walking Sessions:
Conduct individual 15-minute minimum outdoor leash walking sessions, focusing on reinforcing positive leash manners. Ensure a safe and controlled walking environment, taking into account each dog's comfort level.
Basic Manners Training:
Deliver individual 20-30 minute basic manners training sessions, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques and provided training treats. Work closely with the training staff to address specific training needs identified for individual dogs.
Observation and Reporting:
Monitor dogs for signs of distress, discomfort, or unusual behavior. Promptly report observations to the training staff for further evaluation and adjustments. Communicate with regular daycare staff regarding playgroup locations and note any behaviors of regular daycare dogs that require attention (e.g., diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy). Communication with
Admin Staff:
Notify admin staff of any noteworthy behaviors that owners may need to know. Effectively complete report cards in Gingr, providing owners with detailed insights into their dog's day, including a personalized note and pictures.
Space Maintenance:
Keep the daycare space clean, including cleaning food and water bowls, and maintaining the tidiness of enrichment activities. Ensure the event space/training room is kept tidy and ready for use.
Cleaning Responsibilities:
Clean up after dogs to maintain a hygienic and pleasant environment. Perform health checks on dogs and update the health check list as needed.
Feeding and Medication Administration:
Administer food and medications as directed, ensuring accurate logging and proper documentation. Perform feedings and medication administration with attentiveness to individual dog needs.
