What You'll Do As an Enrichment Specialist, you'll be much more than a dog handler—you'll become an important part of each dog's daily experience.
Your responsibilities include:
  • Supervising safe, engaging playgroups using positive, relationship-based handling techniques
  • Reading canine body language and proactively managing group interactions
  • Providing enrichment activities that keep dogs mentally and physically engaged
  • Building positive relationships with every dog in your care
  • Feeding, administering medications (when trained), and ensuring each dog's individual needs are met
  • Safely transporting dogs throughout the facility
  • Maintaining a clean, healthy, and sanitized environment
  • Communicating observations to teammates to ensure exceptional care
  • Creating an experience that both dogs and their families love What We're Looking For You don't need years of professional dog experience—we can teach the right person. We're looking for people who are:
  • Passionate about dogs and animal welfare
  • Positive, upbeat, and dependable
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Able to remain calm and make good decisions under pressure
  • Willing to learn canine behavior and enrichment techniques
  • Excellent communicators with a strong work ethic
  • Reliable and punctual is essential - we work with live animals who can't fend for themselves Experience with dogs through previous employment, volunteering, training, fostering, grooming, veterinary clinics, shelters, or personal ownership is a plus. Physical Requirements This is an active job! Team members should be able to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, squat, kneel, and move quickly when needed
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all Wisconsin weather conditions
  • Comfortably clean up after dogs throughout the day
Approximately:
  • 60% supervising dog playgroups and enrichment activities
  • 20% feeding, crating, moving, and caring for dogs
  • 20% cleaning and maintaining our facility Schedule We operate 365 days a year, so team members must be available to work some weekends and holidays. We're currently hiring for shifts beginning around:
  • 7:00 AM
  • 8:00 AM
  • 12:00 PM Typical ending times include:
  • 12:30 PM
  • 4:30 PM
  • 7:00 PM Both Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available.
