Job Description

Welcome to Homestead Hound, We are looking for a Full Time Dog Handler to join our team. We are passionate about providing top-quality care for dogs in a fun, dynamic environment. Must also be able to work Friday's - Sundays on a rotating schedule. Position Full Time Pack Member, (32-40hrs per week) Are you ready to join our pack? As a full time pack member, your primary responsibility will be to have fun with dogs all day. In this role, you will monitor and accompany dogs throughout their daily schedules consisting of both structured and unstructured activity times and ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment during their time at HH. Pack Members report to Pack Leader employees daily for briefings on schedules, special event procedures, and daily duties (yes, this includes the kind of doodies that involve plastic doggy bags). Daily duties include… Monitoring structured and unstructured activities for guests, ensuring safety, comfort, and enjoyment Following pack leader instructions and policies regarding safe play behaviors and techniques Communicating important/time-sensitive information to Pack Leaders and incoming/outgoing staff members Documenting important information regarding daycare and boarding guests and operations in appropriate channels and designated logs Documenting information in Incident Reports when necessary, informing Pack Leader of the incident and assisting as needed Maintaining cleanliness of toys, indoor play areas, and outdoor play areas Assisting in preparation and delivery of meals and room service items to guest suites throughout the day Preparing overnight boarding accommodations for all boarding guests, following care, feeding, medication, cleaning, and activity schedules for guests Escorting guests on leash to and from lobby, suites, play areas, and other on-site locations during scheduled check-ins, stays, and departures Maintaining overall cleanliness of play areas, hallways, and storage areas What we're looking for in candidates… Long Term employment Willingness to undergo extensive training to be able to attentively care for multiple dogs in an open play setting Someone eager to advance their career in the rapidly evolving pet care industry in one of the most unique pet care facilities in the region Ability to think on your feet and take initiative while maintaining sharp attention to detail, as well as execute a wide range of responsibilities dynamically Strong ability to maintain focus on their surroundings with a proactive, forward thinking- mindset Leadership, communication, and team working skills A passion for animals, dogs specifically, and desire to provide the best care ever for them Someone who thrives in dynamic, frequently changing environments
