Licensed Cosmetologist

We are seeking a licensed cosmetologist who is passionate about healthy hair care, client education, and delivering elevated service experiences in a luxury head spa environment. This role is ideal for professionals who want to grow beyond traditional styling and expand their expertise in scalp therapy, restorative hair care, extensions, and holistic beauty services under the guidance of a board-certified holistic trichologist. At New Beginnings Beauty Bar, we believe healthy scalp = healthy hair, and every service begins with intention, care, and knowledge. Responsibilities Provide professional hair services including silk presses, treatments, styling, and extension support services Assist with and perform luxury head spa experiences and scalp therapy services Support clients experiencing thinning, shedding, dryness, buildup, or scalp imbalance through guided care recommendations Perform consultations and recommend personalized service plans based on scalp condition, lifestyle, and hair goals Maintain sanitation standards aligned with state board and wellness service protocols Educate clients on at-home scalp maintenance between appointments Support retail recommendations using New Beginnings Hair Therapy products Maintain accurate client notes and service records Participate in content support and guest engagement when appropriate (before/after education, service highlights, etc.) Help create a calm, welcoming, luxury environment for every guest experience Assist with front desk flow when needed, including greeting clients and appointment transitions Services You May Perform Depending on experience and training: Silk presses and healthy hair styling Deep conditioning and restorative treatments Scalp detox services Head spa treatments (training provided if needed) Extension maintenance and installs (K-tips, I-tips, tape-ins, wefts preferred) Blowouts and natural hair care support Waxing or lash services (optional but welcomed) Qualifications Active Alabama cosmetology license required Passion for healthy hair and scalp care, not just styling Willingness to learn trichology-based service techniques Strong consultation and communication skills Professional appearance and client-first mindset Ability to maintain consistent service quality in a wellness environment Comfortable recommending retail products that support client results Team-oriented attitude with a desire to grow within a structured system Preferred but not required: Experience with extensions Experience with scalp treatments Interest in head spa services Experience working in a luxury salon or wellness setting
