Job Description:
With an emphasis serving schools with diverse and low-socioeconomic student populations and non-traditional learning environments, Skyrocket™ leadership has over a century's worth of combined experience leading schools and operational support teams. Skyrocket's™ niche expertise is in the intersection between academic and administrative performance. This role will support the virtual needs of the Cosmetology CTE program to High School students. Tentative Schedule - M-TH 9-11 am at the Carmichael Center (8hrs of instruction) 2 days at the Arden location 2-4pm (4hrs of instruction) 15+ hours per week including grading and instruction. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following: Instruct students in specific CTE Pathways, using various teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other hands-on materials. Prepares an outline for the course of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the state and department. Counsels students in adjustment and academic problems. Develops CTE lessons for the course curriculum. Managing, documenting, and supporting any student clinical hours needed for certification. Participates in various community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Connects with students and parents to discuss student progress and address any issues. Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, assesses student work product, and records results. Maintains attendance records and student grades Assists in maintaining a clean, inviting, professional center for students to attend. Performs other administrative functions and duties assigned. Creates community, college, and business relationships that lead to partnerships benefiting the students and improving the course capstones. Continues to gain industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students. Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision. Superior organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to synergize with field and corporate staff to implement the educational program. Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, parents, co-workers, and business contacts courteously and professionally. Working knowledge of MS Office, Google, and database management. Must hold a valid CA Driver's License. Ability to clear a driving record screen.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Preliminary CTE Credential in Fashion and Interior Design, OR ability and willingness to obtain a CTE Credential. At least 3 years of industry experience. Teaching experience preferred.
