Pay Based on Experience Shape the Next Generation of Beauty Professionals Austin Kade Academy is seeking a passionate, professional, and student-focused Cosmetology Instructor to educate, mentor, and inspire future beauty professionals. As a Cosmetology Instructor, you will do far more than demonstrate techniques. You will help students build confidence, develop strong professional habits, strengthen their technical skills, prepare for licensure, and become career-ready professionals prepared to succeed in the beauty industry. We are looking for someone who brings industry knowledge, patience, professionalism, positive energy, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate. What You'll Do Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on instruction in cosmetology theory, techniques, client care, and professional practices Teach and demonstrate haircutting, hairstyling, color, chemical and texture services, shampooing, scalp care, basic skincare and nail concepts, and other subjects included in the cosmetology curriculum Help students build strong foundational skills while developing accuracy, confidence, creativity, and efficiency Coach and supervise students during hands-on practice and client services Teach students how to conduct professional consultations, identify client needs, recommend appropriate services and products, and provide an exceptional client experience Develop, enhance, and deliver organized, engaging lesson plans designed to support a variety of adult learning styles Explain technical concepts in ways students can understand, practice, and apply in real-world situations Evaluate student progress through practical demonstrations, assignments, examinations, classroom participation, and other established assessment methods Provide clear, constructive, and encouraging feedback that helps students recognize their strengths and continue improving Recognize when students need additional coaching and provide appropriate guidance and support to help them progress Help prepare students for state licensure examinations and a successful transition into the professional beauty industry Reinforce professional habits including punctuality, accountability, teamwork, communication, work ethic, professional appearance, sanitation, and ethical client care Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, practical progress, evaluations, and other required documentation Uphold high standards for sanitation, infection control, safety, and professional conduct Create a classroom and clinic-floor environment that is positive, respectful, organized, encouraging, and focused on student learning and success Stay current with cosmetology trends, products, techniques, tools, and industry best practices Model the professionalism, work ethic, communication, and client-care standards expected of successful beauty professionals Collaborate with fellow instructors, staff, administration, and school leadership to support student achievement and the overall success of Austin Kade Academy What We're Looking For Current Idaho cosmetology license or other applicable professional credential Current instructor credential, or the ability and willingness to obtain the appropriate credential required to teach cosmetology Professional experience in the cosmetology industry Strong knowledge of haircutting, hairstyling, color theory and application, chemical services, sanitation, client consultation, and professional salon practices Ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and explain both the how and the why behind professional services Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate, encourage, coach, and connect with students from a variety of backgrounds and learning styles Patience and the ability to provide correction and feedback in a positive, productive, and encouraging manner Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance classroom instruction, hands-on education, student supervision, and required documentation A professional, dependable, approachable, positive, and team-oriented attitude Commitment to maintaining high educational, safety, and professional standards A genuine passion for helping students grow personally, professionally, and technically The best instructors are not simply the people who know the most.
