Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; provides hands-on training Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Maintains records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by the college and in compliance with the NC Board or Barbering Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom using technology and appropriate instructional strategies Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching, testing and evaluating student's classroom and practical knowledge Assists Director with student practical exercises Coaches students about quality and service standards and goals Manages the classroom, maintaining the appropriate balance of classroom discipline and creating a conducive learning environment Assists with inspections, tests, and evaluations Assists Director with graduation exercises
