Position Summary:
To consistently achieve a high degree of member care and service throughout the spa experience and to provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience. The Barber is responsible for the overall operation of the barbershop department in accordance with The Buffalo Club standards.
General Requirements:
Complies and carries out job within the spirit of The Buffalo Club's Vision & Values. Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with The Buffalo Club's appearance standards. Interact with the members and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner. Perform all work in accordance with safety standards and guidelines. Report any incidents or injuries to the supervisor immediately.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
In-depth knowledge of the most current trends in haircutting and shaving techniques. Ability to use a straight razor. Knowledge of products and services offered in spa and salon, especially geared towards men. Ensure station cleanliness and all equipment is in proper working condition. Report any maintenance problems to supervisor immediately. Comply with state sanitation guidelines as well as standard operating procedures for all services and protocols. Maintain member and guest records. Follow member and guest instructions. Provide guest services to the member and guest with a strong emphasis on customer service. Follow all policies and procedures as it relates to services. Complete inventory of all products. Notify manager of any products that need to be ordered in a timely manner. Perform opening and closing duties as outlined by manager. Attend all staff meetings. Turn in necessary paperwork for payroll prior to deadline. In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your management. Required Skills /
Abilities:
Must have strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to operate all barber related equipment. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
Education and Experience:
  • Must hold and maintain a current NY state license
  • Have degree from certified barber school
  • High school degree or GED
  • At least 3 years of prior experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in shaving with a straight razor
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 30 lbs. over the course of a shift. Must be able to stand and walk throughout majority of shift. Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts. Must be 18 years of age.
Licenses & Certificates:
  • Hold current CPR and First Aid certification or attend training offered by The Buffalo Club.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
Salary:
$16.00/hr. plus a 25% commission rate & 20% gratuity added to each service.

From $16.00 per hour
