Location Camden City Campus Department Career Institute Days and Hours Day and/or Evening hours- see special instructions Requisition Number Position Goals- Career and Technical Institute Instructor for Cosmetology will report directly to the Workforce Training and Continuing Education Program Supervisor and Workforce Development Recruiter & Cosmetology Program Specialist and will deliver high-quality classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
- Career and Technical Institute Instructor for Cosmetology will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with the approved curriculum on a daily basis.
- Develop lesson plans that support student learning outcomes and workforce readiness.
- Organize and maintain instructional materials, tools, equipment, and supply inventories.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, including grading and attendance tracking.
- Provide timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on student performance, behavior and participations.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry standards, laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, and integrate this knowledge into daily instruction.
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student behavior and instructional progress.
- Model professionalism, reliability, and respect to contribute to a positive school culture. Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in the field.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, complete student evaluations, document student progress and email students and staff.
- Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal communication skills for classroom instruction and student engagement.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active NJ State Board of Cosmetology Cosmetologist-Hairstylist license.
- Active NJ State Board of Cosmetology Teacher license, preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires mobility throughout the campus.
- Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while teaching in a classroom and lab settings.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move Cosmetology-related equipment or training materials up to 50lbs.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate hand tools and training equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach when demonstrating skills may be required.
