With an eye for detail and a spirit of hospitality, you support the smooth operation of the spa's locker rooms, relaxation areas, treatment rooms, and fitness center. Your role is key to maintaining a tranquil atmosphere that reflects the elegance and charm of both our hotel and Charleston itself.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome guests warmly and escort them through the spa, ensuring comfort and privacy at all times. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of locker rooms, showers, relaxation lounges, and treatment prep areas. Replenish towels, robes, slippers, beverages, and amenities throughout the day. Prepare treatment rooms between services with proper sanitation and ambiance (e.g., lighting, linens, aromas). Monitor the spa environment for tidiness, safety, and guest readiness—responding proactively to any issues. Assist therapists and reception with guest flow, supplies, and support as needed. Handle laundry responsibilities with care and discretion. Uphold the standards of a Forbes 5-Star spa in all tasks and guest interactions. Support retail presentation and product restocking as directed. Follow hotel safety and hygiene protocols and attend regular departmental training sessions. Clean, disinfect, and maintain ladies' and men's locker rooms, saunas, and steam rooms. Clean and maintain the pool, health club, spa treatment rooms, and patio area. Retrieve and dispose of laundry. Fold towels and robes throughout the Spa and Health Club. Maintain proper levels of supplies to perform duties for the Spa and Health Club. Maintain knowledge about the hotel features and services, outlets, and hours of operation. Be always an ambassador of the hotel and the company, in and out of the workplace. Maintain confidentiality and security of all guests and general hotel information.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Previous spa, wellness, or housekeeping experience preferred; luxury hotel or resort experience strongly valued. Genuine interest in hospitality and wellness. Polished, professional demeanor with a calm, service-oriented presence. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Must maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and cleanliness standards. Experience in a Forbes 5-Star environment. Multilingual skills or CPR/First Aid certification are a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the duration of the shift. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (laundry bins, linen bags, supplies). Comfortable working in humid/wet environments such as steam rooms, saunas, and hydrotherapy spaces. Available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours to support business needs.
