We're looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking Salon Assistant to help keep our floor running smoothly and our guests feeling taken care of from the moment they walk through the door. The Role As a Salon Assistant at Beyond the Fringe, you'll be the heartbeat of our salon floor. You'll work closely alongside our stylists, helping deliver an exceptional guest experience every single time. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role and a real opportunity to learn, grow, and work toward your future career behind the chair.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Greeting and welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism Shampooing, conditioning, and preparing clients for their services Assisting stylists during color applications, blowouts, and finishing services Keeping the salon clean, stocked, and guest-ready at all times Mixing color and preparing bowls under stylist direction Answering phones and assisting with scheduling as needed Managing laundry, backbar inventory, and supply organization Supporting the team wherever needed to ensure a seamless guest experience What We're Looking For Prior salon experience is preferred. A genuine passion for the beauty industry and a strong work ethic are a must. If you're enrolled in or recently graduated from cosmetology school, this is an ideal opportunity to build real-world experience in a high-end environment.

Must-haves:

A valid Virginia Cosmetology License or current enrollment in a licensed cosmetology program Strong communication skills and a solutions-focused mindset The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Excellent time management and the ability to stay composed in a busy environment A positive attitude and genuine eagerness to learn Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail Knowledge of sanitation protocols to ensure safety standards are consistently met Beyond the basics, we value: A people-first attitude. Physical Requirements This role is physically active by nature. Standing for extended periods is expected. Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements are also expected. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
