Performs research to obtain vendor and product information, pricing and availability, and completes the purchasing process. Prepares, audits and maintains inventory records and related reports. Monitors repair needs; performs equipment maintenance and repair, or schedules external resources for more complex repair work. Assists with ensuring students and programs comply with NJCAA, MCCCD, Region I and ACCAC regulations, policies and procedures. Plans, coordinates, schedules, game day staff such as announcers, clock operators, ball shaggers, game scorebook, line judges, shot clock operators, statisticians, softball and baseball bat testers, etc. Coordinates and completes the processing of athletic events game management Invoices. Essential Functions 30% Works with coaches and vendors to facilitates the purchase of equipment, apparel and uniforms for all of the athletic programs. Researches and supply potential equipment information, including but not limited to specifications, selections, vendor information, etc. Verify that all supplies ordered through the college's processes are shipped and received in a timely manner. Monitors equipment to ensure proper functioning. Receives, checks in and stores apparel, equipment and uniforms for all athletic programs. Reviews and monitors equipment availability to ensure adequate supply levels. Monitors and maintains the storage of equipment. Maintains inventory records of all athletic programs. Labeling and assembling apparel for practice, travel and games. Performs laundry duties including but not limited to practice gear, game uniforms, towels, etc. 10% Provides coordination of facility upgrades or maintenance/repair requests, including the initiation of requisitions and/or scheduling of vendor work or site visits, communicating with facilities staff, and recording necessary information into facility management tracking systems. Monitors repair needs; performs equipment maintenance and repair, or schedules external resources for more complex repair work. 10% Facilitates the embellishments of logos on apparel and game uniforms. 10% Works directly with eligibility office to verify only certified student athletes receive uniforms prior to competitions. Work directly with the eligibility office and assists with ensuring students and programs comply with NJCAA, MCCCD, Region I and ACCAC regulations, policies and procedures. Disperses all equipment, apparel and uniforms to NJCAA eligible student athletes. After each team's season is over collect and inventory all required items and store for following season(s). 10% Reconciliation of all credit card purchases as well as creating requisitions to generate a purchase order for major purchases. Assists with the capital request process for athletic equipment or other athletic-related purchase requests, include research and requisition creation as needed. Monitors and assists in the development of departmental budgets. 10% Plans, coordinates, schedules, game day staff such as announcers, clock operators, ball shaggers, game scorebook, line judges, shot clock operators, statisticians, softball and baseball bat testers, etc. Coordinates and completes the processing of athletic events game management Invoices. 10% Provides coordination of facility upgrades or maintenance/repair requests, including the initiation of requisitions and/or scheduling of vendor work or site visits, communicating with facilities staff, and recording necessary information into facility management tracking systems. Monitors repair needs; performs equipment maintenance and repair, or schedules external resources for more complex repair work 5% Work with Administration to keep track of spending and to verify that all athletic teams stay within pre-determined athletic college budgets. 5% Other duties as assigned commensurate to job classification. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in the purchasing, maintenance and use of athletic equipment. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working with vendors to facilitates the purchase of equipment, apparel and uniforms for athletic programs. B. Experience in maintaining an inventory of equipment, apparel and uniforms for athletic programs. C. Experience working with heat presses for the embellishments of logos on apparel and game uniforms. D. Experience in the monitoring and repairing of athletic equipment and other related athletic items. E. Experience in scheduling external resources for more complex athletic related repair work F. Experience in planning and coordinating of game day staff such as announcers, clock operators, ball shaggers, game scorebook, line judges, shot clock operators, statisticians, softball and baseball bat testing process, etc. for athletic events. G. Experience in assisting in the research of information required for larger athletic equipment purchases ex: electronic scoreboards, athletic carts, scoring tables, athletic windscreen, etc. H. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. Special Working Conditions This position typically require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); moderate exposure to hazardous materials (such as chemicals, blood or other body fluids); and moderate exposure to extreme temperatures or travel.
