Job Description

This is a 1099 Contrator Role Reporting to the Program Manager of Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center, the Licensed Esthetician (LE) provides evidence-informed skincare and supportive esthetic services to individuals impacted by cancer, including patients, survivors, and caregivers. This role focuses on direct service delivery within a non-clinical, community-based setting that promotes comfort, confidence, and overall well-being. The Oncology Esthetician delivers safe, individualized care tailored to the unique needs of participants experiencing or recovering from cancer treatment. The Oncology Esthetician demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills while fostering a welcoming, trauma-informed, and inclusive environment. This role supports the mission, vision, and values of Waterford Place and Rush by delivering high-quality, participant-centered care. Responsibilities Provides safe, effective, and individualized skincare services, including facials and consultations, tailored to participant needs and treatment considerations Adapts techniques and products based on participant health history, contraindications, and evolving needs Creates and maintains a clean, safe, and calming therapeutic environment Demonstrates a compassionate, trauma-informed, and professional approach to care Maintains appropriate service documentation in accordance with program standards (non-EMR) Follows established safety, sanitation, and program protocols Communicates professionally and respectfully with participants, staff, and volunteers Supports a positive, inclusive environment for all participants Participates in program offerings such as skincare education sessions or group workshops as requested Collaborates with program staff to support a coordinated participant experience Maintains confidentiality of all participant information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies Works independently with minimal supervision
Other Information Required Job Qualifications:
Current Illinois Esthetician license in good standing Minimum of 3 years of professional esthetics experience Knowledge of skincare considerations for individuals with sensitive or medically impacted skin Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Knowledge of confidentiality standards and professional boundaries
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Certification or training in oncology esthetics Experience working with cancer patients, survivors, or individuals with complex health conditions Familiarity with trauma-informed care and integrative wellness approaches Experience in community-based or nonprofit settings Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Disclaimer The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
