Our practice is located in partnership with the Costco South Raleigh environment, giving our team access to a high-traffic, healthcare-oriented patient base. OptiLux Esthetics exists at the intersection of eye care, skin health, facial wellness, light-based technology, and premium patient experience . Because OptiLux is connected to a medical eye care practice, our standard is different from a traditional spa. We are seeking a Medical Esthetician who wants to help build something excellent — not someone simply looking for a room, a machine, and clients handed to them. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Medical Esthetician to join OptiLux Esthetics. The ideal candidate is passionate about esthetics, comfortable with IPL and advanced skin treatments, and able to deliver a high-quality client experience while working inside a healthcare-based practice. This role requires technical skill, strong communication, professional maturity, retail confidence, and the willingness to contribute to the growth of the brand. This position is best suited for someone who is dependable, humble, coachable, organized, and willing to help with both treatment delivery and business development. The right candidate understands that building a successful esthetics division requires excellent service, follow-up, patient education, marketing support, retail sales, and team collaboration.
Core Responsibilities:
Esthetics & Treatment Services Perform esthetic treatments within the scope of licensure, training, and practice protocols. Provide IPL/light-based treatments if properly trained and approved by clinical leadership. Perform services that may include facials, skincare treatments, microneedling, hair threading, laser or light-based esthetic treatments, and other approved services. Conduct client consultations to assess skin concerns, goals, contraindications, expectations, and appropriate treatment options. Educate patients and clients on treatment plans, skincare routines, pre-care, post-care, and realistic outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of services, recommendations, consent forms, treatment notes, and follow-up needs. Follow all clinical protocols, safety standards, and sanitation requirements. IPL & Medical Esthetics Support Demonstrate comfort with IPL, laser, or energy-based device workflows. Follow all safety requirements, including patient screening, eye protection, device preparation, treatment settings, and post-treatment instructions. Understand the connection between facial aesthetics, ocular wellness, dry eye-adjacent treatments, and patient-centered care. Work closely with clinical leadership to ensure treatments are performed ethically and safely. Recognize when a concern should be escalated to the doctor or clinical team. Patient & Client Experience Create a welcoming, professional, and elevated experience for every patient and client. Greet clients warmly, explain services clearly, and answer questions with confidence. Build trust through education rather than pressure. Follow up with clients after treatments when appropriate. Help clients feel cared for before, during, and after each service. Handle concerns or dissatisfaction with maturity, professionalism, and service recovery skills. Sales, Retail & Package Development Recommend appropriate skincare products, treatment packages, and follow-up services based on client needs. Communicate product benefits clearly and ethically. Help drive retail sales without using aggressive or uncomfortable sales tactics. Track client interest, leads, consultations, conversions, and follow-up opportunities. Support seasonal promotions, treatment bundles, membership-style offerings, and patient education campaigns. Understand that retail and treatment sales are part of delivering a complete esthetics experience. Front Desk & Administrative Support Assist with scheduling appointments, confirming visits, greeting clients, and handling inquiries when needed. Support check-in and check-out workflows. Help collect payments, document services, and coordinate future appointments. Maintain organized client records and communication notes. Participate in daily operational needs rather than limiting contribution only to treatment time. Help maintain a smooth flow between OptiLux Esthetics and See More Eye Care. Marketing & Social Media Support Assist with social media content, treatment education, before-and-after coordination when appropriate, and community engagement. Help create a professional, tasteful, and medically responsible brand presence. Support photos, videos, educational posts, promotions, and patient-facing content with approval from leadership. Represent OptiLux Esthetics in a way that reflects the professionalism of See More Eye Care

Help generate interest through patient education, internal referrals, and local community engagement. Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and treatment-ready environment. Follow infection control and sanitation standards before, during, and after every service. Properly clean and maintain treatment rooms, tools, devices, linens, supplies, and product displays. Follow HIPAA and patient privacy expectations within a medical practice environment. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ensure all services are performed within applicable licensing, training, and safety standards. Required Qualifications Active esthetics license or applicable professional licensure required for the services performed. Training or experience in medical esthetics, IPL, laser, or energy-based treatments preferred. Strong understanding of skincare, treatment planning, sanitation, and client education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a healthcare-based environment with professionalism and discretion. Strong organizational habits and attention to detail. Willingness to assist with scheduling, follow-up, retail, social media, and business development. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work collaboratively with doctors, office leadership, technicians, front desk staff, and other team members. Preferred Qualifications IPL or laser training. Microneedling experience. Experience with facials, advanced skincare treatments, hair threading, and esthetic device-based services. Retail skincare sales experience. Experience in a med spa, dermatology office, ophthalmology office, optometry office, or other healthcare-adjacent setting. Social media comfort, including basic content creation and client education. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Interest in ocular wellness, dry eye care, facial aesthetics, and medically guided esthetic services.
