Job Summary Join our compassionate team as a Funeral Home Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting families during their most difficult moments. Responsibilities Assist with funeral preparations, including heavy lifting and safe manual handling of caskets, floral arrangements, and equipment Support funeral directors with event planning and coordination to ensure seamless services Provide bereavement support to families, offering compassionate communication and guidance throughout the process Manage records accurately, including documentation of services, client information, and event details Drive company vehicles for transportation of equipment or family members when needed, adhering to safe driving practices Maintain cleanliness and organization of the funeral home environment to uphold professional standards Offer on-call coverage as part of an emergency response team, ensuring availability for urgent needs or after-hours support Experience Previous experience in funeral & mortuary services or related customer service roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently Strong communication skills for working effectively with families and team members Experience in event planning or event coordination is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices Administrative experience including records management and client communication is beneficial Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation duties This rewarding role offers an opportunity to serve your community with compassion while developing valuable skills in a supportive environment.
