In this vital role, you will be responsible for a timely, respectful, and safe transfer of decedents from places of death to the funeral home and between the funeral home and other facilities as needed, including on call and after hour response. Duties Safely lift, carry, and transport decedents of varying sizes and weights, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Coordinate with team members and clients to plan transfer schedules and ensure timely execution. Maintain removal vehicles in clean safe, and serviceable condition. Assist with other operational duties including preparation room support. Support families and clients with bereavement support by offering empathetic communication and assistance throughout the transfer process. Maintain accurate records of transfers, including documentation of items moved and any special instructions. Operate relevant equipment such as dollies, straps, or lifting devices to facilitate safe handling. Ensure all transfers are conducted with professionalism, respect, and attention to detail at all times. Skills Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with clients and team members. Knowledge of bereavement support principles to provide empathetic assistance during sensitive situations. Experience in funeral directing or event planning is advantageous for coordinating logistics smoothly. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols consistently.
