Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and dependable Removal Technician / First Call Professional to join our funeral service team. This position plays a vital role in serving families by responding to first calls and providing the respectful transfer of deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other locations to our funeral home.

The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, integrity, empathy, and a commitment to providing exceptional care during some of life's most difficult moments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Respond promptly to first-call requests, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Transport deceased individuals with dignity, respect, and professionalism. Interact compassionately with families, medical personnel, hospice staff, law enforcement, and other professionals. Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly. Ensure company vehicles and equipment are clean, maintained, and ready for service. Follow all safety procedures, state regulations, and company policies. Assist funeral home staff with additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Oregon driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to lift, move, and assist with transfers using appropriate equipment and assistance. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations. Reliable transportation and flexibility to work an on-call schedule. Experience in funeral service, healthcare, EMS, transportation, or customer service is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing. Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions. Availability to respond to calls during assigned on-call periods. $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
