Job Description

compassionate, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Funeral Home Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for current mortuary science students seeking meaningful hands-on experience in all aspects of funeral service within a respected family-owned funeral home serving Bucks County for over 50 years. This role provides valuable exposure to funeral service operations, including removals, funeral services, administrative support, and family care. Schedule Part-Time Mondays Thursdays Saturdays Flexible scheduling available to accommodate school and clinical requirements Responsibilities Assist funeral directors with first calls and transfers from residences, nursing facilities, hospitals, and medical examiner offices. Assist with funeral, memorial, visitation, and graveside services. Set up and break down visitation rooms, chapels, and reception areas. Greet and assist families and guests during services. Assist with floral arrangements, memorial displays, register books, and keepsakes.
Perform light administrative duties including:
Filing documents Organizing paperwork Preparing service materials Answering phones as needed Data entry and clerical support Complete errands including deliveries to churches, cemeteries, hospitals, and local businesses. Assist with vehicle preparation, cleaning, and maintaining presentation standards. Support staff with preparation room logistics and decedent care assistance when appropriate and permitted. Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the highest standards of dignity, respect, and confidentiality. Perform additional funeral home duties as assigned. Qualifications Current mortuary science student preferred, but not required. Interest in pursuing a career in funeral service strongly encouraged. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift and assist with transfers. Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work compassionately with families during difficult times.
Pay:
$23.00 - $24.00 per hour
