Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director/Embalmer or Funeral Arranger to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of funeral services, providing support to grieving families, and ensuring that every detail is handled with care and professionalism. This role requires a deep understanding of the funeral process, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work in a sensitive environment. Duties Coordinate and oversee all funeral arrangements, including transportation of the deceased and preparation of the body. Provide bereavement support to families, guiding them through the planning process with empathy and respect. Sanitate and prepare facilities for viewings and services, ensuring a dignified environment for families. Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology in the preparation of bodies for viewing or burial. Perform cosmetology tasks as needed to enhance the appearance of the deceased. Conduct sales presentations for funeral services, merchandise, and memorial products. Assist with heavy lifting during the transfer of remains and casket handling. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each service provided. Transportation of decedents from place of passing to the funeral home or crematory. Experience Previous experience in funeral directing or a related field. Strong customer service skills with a focus on empathy and compassion. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with bereavement support practices is highly desirable. Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with funeral services. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with families during difficult times. If an Embalmer, one year of embalming experience. If a Funeral Director/Arranger, one year of funeral directing or arranging experience.
