This vital role combines technical expertise with heartfelt client support, ensuring families receive compassionate guidance during their most difficult moments. As a Funeral Service Director, you will oversee all aspects from initial meeting with the family to coordinating all planned service details, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and empathy. Your leadership will help create comforting experiences that celebrate loved ones' lives and provide solace to grieving families. Duties Meeting with families to understand their needs, and to provide them clear guidance on funeral visitations, chapel/ church services and committal services. Coordinate and oversee the funeral services, including scheduling, transportation, and setup, ensuring seamless service for the families. Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when transporting or preparing bodies, adhering to sanitation and mortuary expectations. Operate company vehicles for transportation of remains and equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with traffic regulations. Provide support to the families by offering compassionate communication and assistance at the services. Maintain detailed records of the funeral services details, including service detail sheets, clergy information forms, cemetery permits, honorariums, obituaries. Ensure proper sanitation protocols are followed within the mortuary environment to uphold health standards. Skills Strong organizational skills to manage funeral events efficiently and professionally while maintaining composure and attention to detail. Excellent communication abilities to provide empathetic support and clear explanations throughout the funeral service process. Ability to perform basic cosmetology tasks related to deceased persons with sensitivity and precision.
