Lacombe AND Bogalusa Position Type:
Full-Time Affordable Funeral Home is seeking a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our staff. This dual position requires both the technical skills of embalming and the compassionate leadership of funeral directing. The right candidate will be committed to professionalism, regulatory compliance, and providing comfort and care to families during their time of need. Responsibilities Arrange, direct, and oversee funeral and memorial services. Meet with families to provide support and guidance in service planning. Prepare and file required legal documentation (death certificates, burial permits, etc.). Perform embalming, restorative care, and preparation of the deceased for viewing and services. Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and OSHA standards. Oversee preparation areas, equipment, and facilities with professionalism and care. Collaborate with clergy, cemeteries, and service providers to ensure seamless services. Qualifications Must hold a Funeral Director and Embalmer license in Louisiana. Demonstrated skill in embalming and restorative work. Strong organizational abilities with a high attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, professional demeanor with the ability to support grieving families. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and be on call as required. What We Offer Full-time, stable position.
