Concord, NC | Full-Time | Exempt About Us Hartsell Funeral Homes, Inc. is a family-owned funeral home operation serving the greater Concord and Cabarrus County area across four locations: Albemarle, Concord, Harrisburg, and Midland. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced, licensed Funeral Director to step into a senior leadership role as Managing Funeral Director . This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned funeral professional who is ready to take the next step in their career moving from individual service delivery into operational and team leadership across a multi-location organization. The Managing Funeral Director will serve as the operational and cultural leader of our team, overseeing 9 Funeral Directors, 5 office staff, and approximately 15 part-time employees across all four locations. This role is based primarily out of our Concord location. What You'll Do Operations
- Oversee daily operations across all four locations, ensuring consistent service standards and facility readiness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop three categories of staff Funeral Directors, office staff, and part-time employees.
- Maintain an active personal case load, serving families directly as a licensed Funeral Director while leading the team. Step in to cover cases across any location as needed to ensure no family goes underserved. Supervise arrangement conferences and ensure families receive compassionate, consistent service
- Respond to family complaints the same business day; escalate unresolved concerns to ownership within 48 hours (72 hours on weekends). Build lasting relationships with families, clergy, hospice providers, hospitals, and community organizations Process & Business Development
- Establish and maintain SOPs for every stage of a case intake through post-service follow-up
- Develop and maintain a preneed sales pipeline through process, training, and referral protocols
- Implement and oversee a Google review process to grow our online reputation across all locations
