Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated and Funeral Director to join our team, providing essential support and guidance to families during their most difficult times. This role combines the responsibilities of managing funeral arrangements, overseeing funeral services, and offering bereavement support with professionalism and empathy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of physiology and anatomy, along with excellent customer service skills, to ensure every family receives personalized care and respectful service. As a vital part of our team, you will help create meaningful memorial experiences while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, cosmetology, and event planning. Duties Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including planning, logistics, and execution to ensure seamless ceremonies. Provide compassionate bereavement support to grieving families, offering guidance and emotional comfort throughout the process. Manage the preparation of bodies through dissection, sanitation, cosmetology, and other necessary procedures with precision and respect. Assist families in selecting caskets, urns, and memorial products while explaining options clearly and professionally. Lead the embalming process when required, ensuring all procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards. Conduct heavy lifting safely when transporting bodies or equipment, adhering to proper techniques to prevent injury. Maintain detailed records of all funeral arrangements, documentation, and compliance with legal requirements. Support event planning for funerals or memorial services, coordinating logistics such as venue setup, transportation, and scheduling. Offer sales support by guiding families through available services and products while maintaining a caring approach. Uphold sanitation standards across all areas of the facility to ensure a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors. Qualifications Proven experience in funeral directing or related roles within the funeral industry. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to handle body preparation accurately and respectfully. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with grieving families. Experience in bereavement support or counseling is highly desirable. Ability to perform dissection, cosmetology procedures, and heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Familiarity with event planning processes for memorial services or funerals. Understanding of sanitation protocols relevant to mortuary practices. Valid licensure or certification as required by local regulations for funeral directors. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and compliance documentation.
