This role helps maintain a high standard of cleanliness, quality, and guest readiness by safely operating laundry equipment, inspecting items for stains or damage, maintaining organized work areas, and supporting the overall flow of hotel laundry operations. Job Responsibilities Laundry Operations Sort, wash, dry, fold, stack, store, and distribute linens, towels, terry, uniforms, and related laundry items according to hotel standards and daily operating needs. Operate washers, dryers, folding equipment, carts, and other laundry equipment safely and according to hotel procedures. Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, wear, quality concerns, or lost items and report issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager. Maintain proper linen flow to support guest rooms, public areas, food and beverage areas, and other hotel departments as needed. Keep laundry areas, linen storage rooms, carts, shelves, equipment areas, and related workspaces clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Service Support & Teamwork Support housekeeping team members by helping ensure clean laundry is available for room readiness, guest requests, and daily hotel operations. Communicate linen shortages, equipment concerns, supply needs, stains, damage, or service issues promptly to a supervisor or manager. Work cooperatively with housekeeping, front office, engineering, food and beverage, and other hotel departments to support guest service and operational needs. Follow department assignments, priorities, and instructions while maintaining a positive and dependable team-focused approach. Guest, Team Member & Visitor Service Respond promptly and professionally to laundry-related requests from guests, team members, and departments when assigned. Maintain a polished and professional presence when working in guest-facing or shared hotel areas. Communicate respectfully with guests, team members, vendors, and visitors while supporting a welcoming, hospitality-focused environment. Handle hotel linens, guest items, uniforms, and supplies with care and attention to quality, cleanliness, and service standards. Safety, Compliance & Standards Follow hotel safety, sanitation, hygiene, chemical handling, laundry handling, and equipment operation procedures at all times. Use required safety equipment and follow proper procedures when handling chemicals, wet laundry, hot surfaces, heavy carts, machinery, or other workplace hazards. Report spills, equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, injuries, guest concerns, or incidents promptly and according to hotel procedures. Complete required safety, sanitation, chemical handling, human trafficking awareness, workplace violence prevention, and guest service training as assigned. Accurately follow procedures for tracking laundry production, linen inventory, damaged items, lost items, supplies, maintenance concerns, and related records when required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous hotel laundry, housekeeping, or similar hospitality experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn hotel laundry procedures, safety standards, and service expectations required.
Travel required:
None Physical requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move laundry bags, linen carts, hampers, supplies, and related items up to 50 lbs. as needed. Ability to work in a laundry environment with exposure to heat, humidity, noise, cleaning chemicals, detergents, wet floors, and moving equipment. Ability to safely operate laundry equipment and perform repetitive sorting, loading, unloading, folding, stacking, and organizing tasks throughout the shift. Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced hotel environment while maintaining attention to quality and cleanliness.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify stains, damage, wear, linen quality concerns, and cleanliness issues. Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, laundry formulas, chemical handling guidelines, and hotel standards. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive approach to supporting housekeeping and hotel operations. Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced laundry environment. Clear communication skills, including the ability to report supply needs, equipment issues, damage, shortages, or service concerns. Guest service mindset with the ability to support room readiness and hotel cleanliness in a professional, hospitality-focused manner. Ability to work independently while also partnering effectively with housekeeping, front office, engineering, food and beverage, and leadership teams. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as scheduled; overtime will be handled according to hotel policy and applicable law.
