K Position Summary :
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of laundry duties in maintaining the facility in an orderly, sanitary condition; and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect soiled linens from throughout the facility, sort, wash, dry, and fold the linens. Iron linens as necessary. Distribute the clean linens among departments in accordance with the routine schedule. Wash, dry, and mend residents' personal clothing, as directed by their supervisor. Observes and follows all infection control and sanitation policies and procedures. Assist in transporting laundry containers of soiled linen, and clean linen carts. Operates commercial and residential washing machines and dryer . Keeps accurate records of linen inventory. Maintains equipment and laundry areas are clean, and keeps areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
Qualifications :
Must possess at minimum a High School Education or equivalent (GED). Laundry experience preferred, but not required, as on the job training will be provided. Experience in healthcare facility preferred. Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and/or on other shifts and in other positions, when necessary Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently and comprehensively enough to perform the essential functions of the job.
