Full Job Description Job Overview:
The Laundry Attendant at Encore Hospitality is responsible for efficiently managing and processing laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and delivering linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. This role ensures that all items are cleaned to high standards and returned promptly. The Laundry Attendant contributes to the overall cleanliness and guest satisfaction by maintaining a well-organized and efficient laundry operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Laundry Processing:
Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment to clean and sanitize linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. Sort and categorize laundry items by type, color, and washing requirements. Apply appropriate detergents, fabric softeners, and stain treatments according to item specifications.
Folding & Storage:
Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, and other laundry items in preparation for distribution. Ensure that all laundry items are properly labeled, stored, and organized to facilitate easy retrieval.
Quality Control:
Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to the Laundry Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager. Ensure that all laundry items meet quality standards and are returned to guests or departments in pristine condition.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies, including detergents, fabric softeners, and other cleaning agents. Report low stock levels and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
Maintenance & Cleanliness:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas. Perform routine maintenance on laundry equipment, including cleaning filters and ensuring proper operation. Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Laundry Supervisor.
Guest Laundry:
Handle guest laundry items with care, ensuring timely and accurate processing and delivery. Communicate with the front desk or housekeeping staff regarding special requests or issues related to guest laundry.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials. Follow proper procedures for lifting, carrying, and handling laundry items to prevent injury.
Administrative Duties:
Complete any necessary paperwork related to laundry processing, inventory, and maintenance. Assist with tracking and recording laundry orders and delivery schedules.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training in laundry operations or housekeeping is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in laundry operations or a similar role preferred. Familiarity with laundry equipment and cleaning products.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to operate laundry equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including bags of laundry and cleaning supplies. Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
Indoor laundry facility with exposure to varying conditions depending on equipment and operational needs.
