Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Laundry Aide is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents' personal clothing, linens, and facility laundry. This position helps maintain a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents while following infection control and safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect soiled linens, clothing, towels, and other laundry items from resident rooms and facility departments. Sort laundry according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements. Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Fold, organize, label, and distribute clean laundry to residents and designated areas. Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or items requiring special handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area. Follow infection control, safety, and OSHA guidelines. Monitor and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Maintain adequate supplies of laundry chemicals and materials. Assist with housekeeping duties as needed. Provide courteous service to residents, families, and staff. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required. Ability to operate laundry equipment safely. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull laundry carts. Ability to work in a warm environment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
Work Schedule:
Part-time or full-time positions available. May require weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
