FULL TIME LAUNDRY ASSOCIATE POSITION MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY INCLUDING MORNINGS, NIGHTS, AND WEEEKNDS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent. Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles. Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles. Sorts dried articles according to identification system. Folds, counts, and distributes items to appropriate locations. Presses/irons garments as instructed. Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities. Cleans work area and equipment. Complies with safety procedures, state sanitation standards and state regulations of long term care facilities. Washes and rehangs drapes and cubicle curtains. Follows confidentiality requirements and residents? rights at all times. Follows safety regulations, infection control, and standard precaution procedures at all times. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the age specific competencies as described for members of the laundry staff.

EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, write, and speak the English language. Knowledge of infection control standards. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
