Job Description
Part-Time Laundry Attendant / Porter Terrace Inn 1911 - Petoskey, Michigan Position Summary The Terrace Inn is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Part-Time Laundry Attendant / Porter to support our housekeeping operation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our guests always have clean, fresh linens while helping maintain the overall appearance and organization of the property. The ideal candidate enjoys staying active, takes pride in their work, and is willing to assist wherever needed to help provide an exceptional guest experience. Primary Responsibilities Wash, dry, fold, and organize all hotel linens, towels, bedding, and housekeeping materials using commercial laundry equipment. Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and remove items from service when necessary. Maintain proper inventory levels of clean linens for housekeeping and guest needs. Deliver clean linens to housekeeping closets and designated storage areas throughout the property. Collect soiled linens from housekeeping and public areas. Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and operating efficiently. Clean lint traps, maintain laundry equipment, and report maintenance concerns promptly. Monitor laundry chemicals and supply levels and notify management when restocking is needed. Assist housekeeping by transporting linens, supplies, and equipment throughout the property. Empty trash and assist with maintaining clean front-of-house work areas. Perform light porter duties, including moving furniture, assisting with room setups, and supporting housekeeping with room turnovers when needed. Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of guest hallways, stairwells, storage rooms, and employee work areas. Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Work closely with the housekeeping team to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently and meet Terrace Inn standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations. Qualifications Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organization. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Comfortable carrying laundry baskets, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs throughout the shift. Previous hotel, housekeeping, or laundry experience is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right person. Schedule Part-time/ possibly fulltime Flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays as needed. Hours may vary based on hotel occupancy and seasonal demand.
