Job Description

JOB DUTIES
Operate washing and drying machines to wash and dry linens, blankets, and similar items. Fold all linens for hotel and guest use. Strip linens and towels from vacant dirty rooms to prepare for cleaning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Unload and sort soiled linen. Load machines with the proper amount of soiled linen. Unload washers and load dryers. Sort and fold clean linen. Oversee the proper operation of the washers and dryers. Keep laundry room clean and orderly. Complete other duties as assigned to include cross training. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Lift and carry the average weight of 20lbs frequently, maximum weight frequently 50lbs. Standing/walking up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet. Reaching/overhead extension to pull items down. Pushing and pulling average weight frequently 50lbs, maximum weight 150lbs. Repetitive motions of bending, stooping and twisting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working with and exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise. Must adhere to the Hotel's safety standards and procedures; hearing, eye, hand protection for equipment operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience preferred. Physical ability to perform the loading and unloading duties. Ability to communicate with team members and managed effectively. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work under time constraints, and in a fast paced environment. Must pass criminal background check.
