Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED preferred Previous laundry experience helpful Essential Physical and Mental Requirements The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, as position operates potentially hazardous equipment. The incumbent must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time and/or deadline pressures. Required vision abilities include close up and distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments. Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures. Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas. Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment. Sort and wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures. Press/iron garments, as instructed. Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents on a daily basis and/or as instructed. Dispose of all infectious waste in the proper manner.
