Located in a serene rural setting, our facility is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to residents in a supportive environment. We prioritize quality service, teamwork, and a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and residents. Examples of Duties This is a lead Position with the responsibility for laundry cleaning and delivering to the Nursing Home. Oversee the training and performance of laundry staff and acts as a liaison between the Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor and the employees.
Position Functions:
Staff Training and Oversight:
  • Show employees how to safely transport linen/personals in the laundry truck
  • Ensure protective equipment is appropriately utilized when sorting soiled linen/personals
  • Train employees to separate soiled linen/personals into various buckets
  • Train employees how to deliver linen to each floor
  • Train employees on how to label the personals for the new admissions
Laundry:
  • Collects soiled linen and soiled personals from the Nursing Home.
  • Weigh the buckets
  • Load the washers
  • Load the dryers
  • Put clothes on hangers/hang on the carts per floor
  • Fold linen and transfer to blue buckets to transport to Nursing Home
  • Deliver the personals to the supervisor's office to fill out paper for the resident's file
Administrative Duties:
  • Make a monthly schedule for the employees and display where it is visible to the team.
  • Review and approve timecards in the timekeeping system; when necessary have employees fill out missed punch forms.
  • Approve and track time off requests and attendance patterns of the team.
  • Enter laundry poundage into computer weekly
  • Make labels for old/new residents iron the labels onto clothes write items on resident linen inventory sheet then give it the unit secretary for the residents file.

Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
An incumbent for this class of position will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years prior experience in laundry operations is necessary. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. A candidate should have knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in laundry work to carry out full scale of laundry duties; ability to perform strenuous, physical work, such as moving heavy linen and laundry carts. The candidate must be able to lift heavy bags of linen, and the ramp for the laundry truck. Must be able to drive the laundry truck, write and make arithmetical computations to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with others, such as the general public, coworkers, inmates and other department personnel; to carry out details of work without close supervision; to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; and skill in the use of hand tools and power tools and equipment for laundry to do minor repairs if needed.
