Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry / Public Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens and garments within our facility, ensuring that all items are laundered and presented to the highest standards. This position is essential in providing guests with a comfortable and enjoyable experience, particularly in a hotel environment. Duties Launder and dry clean various types of linens, towels, and garments according to established procedures. Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment efficiently and safely. Sort, fold, and organize clean laundry items for easy distribution. Inspect items for stains or damage before laundering; report any issues to management. Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is kept in good working order. Follow health and safety guidelines while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies as needed. Clean and sanitize hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, staircases, restrooms, and other public areas. Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture, and polish fixtures. Empty trash bins and replace liners. Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors. Restock restroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer. Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the appropriate department. Respond promptly to guest requests related to cleanliness. Follow hotel health, safety, and sanitation standards. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to company procedures. Assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned. Maintain cleaning carts and supplies in an organized manner. Qualifications Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred but not required. Familiarity with laundering techniques, including dry cleaning processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks. Must be able to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
