Job Description

PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL LAUNDRESS
Private Residence | Summerlin, Nevada Two consistent full days per week | Approximately 16 hours weekly | Additional days occasionally available as needed Position Overview Private Las Vegas residence is seeking an experienced, meticulous Part-Time Residential Laundress to take primary responsibility for the care of fine clothing, household linens, and selected wardrobe items. This is a specialized laundry and wardrobe-care position, not a housekeeping role. The ideal candidate has excellent knowledge of fabrics and garment care, takes pride in beautifully finished laundry and linens, works at a steady and productive pace, and is comfortable following established household preferences and care procedures. Discretion, professionalism, good judgment, and respect for personal belongings are essential. Schedule
  • Two consistent full 8-hour days per week (approximately 16 hours total).
  • Occasional additional hours or days may be offered as needed, particularly to assist with wardrobe preparation, packing, and unpacking for travel.
  • This is a permanent part-time position; it is not expected to become a full-time role.
  • Principals are generally present in the residence on scheduled workdays. Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete laundering and finishing of personal clothing according to fabric, construction, color, and care requirements.
  • Sort garments appropriately and select correct washing method, water temperature, detergent, and cycle.
  • Properly air-dry, flat-dry, hang-dry, or machine-dry garments as appropriate.
  • Expert steaming, pressing, and ironing of clothing while protecting delicate fabrics and garment construction.
  • Recognize items that should not be cleaned in the home and set them aside for professional specialty cleaning.
  • Strip beds and launder, dry, professionally iron, and replace fine bed linens.
  • Maintain excellent presentation of finished clothing and linens, including correct folding, hanging, and placement.
  • Inspect garments for stains, loose buttons, minor repair needs, or other issues and bring concerns to the principals' attention.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and well-stocked laundry work area.
  • As training and demonstrated skill permit, assist with appropriate care and maintenance of handbags and shoes using household-approved methods and products.
Fine Garment & Textile Care Candidates should be comfortable working around high-quality and delicate wardrobes. Experience with materials such as silk, cashmere, wool, linen, fine cottons, delicate knits, specialty fabrics, embellishment, embroidery, and other sensitive textiles is highly valued. The successful candidate will understand that sound judgment is as important as technique and will ask before proceeding whenever there is uncertainty. What This Position Is — and Is Not This position is dedicated to laundry, linens, wardrobe care, and related specialty care. It does not include general housekeeping duties. The household employs experienced professional housekeeping staff. Because the position involves access to personal wardrobes and belongings, the successful candidate must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and discretion while working in a private home. Ideal Candidate
  • Substantial professional laundry, luxury wardrobe, costume, textile-care, luxury hospitality, or private-household experience.
  • Excellent ironing, pressing, and steaming skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle delicate and valuable garments carefully and confidently.
  • Steady, efficient work habits and the ability to remain focused throughout the workday.
  • Able to learn the household's preferences and increasingly manage the established laundry workflow with minimal prompting.
  • Comfortable asking for direction when assigned work is complete, rather than remaining idle.
  • Professional, discreet, trustworthy, respectful, and appropriately reserved regarding the household and its belongings.
  • Warm and pleasant demeanor while maintaining professional focus during working hours.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent two-day weekly schedule.
Compensation $30.00 per hour to start, based on experience and demonstrated skill. Compensation may be reviewed after the successful candidate has established proficiency with the household's wardrobe, linens, care standards, and workflow. Hiring Process Qualified candidates should be prepared to provide relevant employment references. Final candidates may be asked to complete paid working trial days so that both the household and candidate can evaluate the fit, work standards, and expectations of the position. To Apply Please submit a résumé outlining relevant laundry, luxury wardrobe, textile-care, costume, luxury hospitality, or private-household experience, along with a brief description of your experience caring for delicate garments and fine linens. Your resume can be sent to Summerlinresidence.hire@gmail.com and please include "Laundress" In the subject line of the email.
