Job Summary We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to support our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, a thorough understanding of fabric care, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized laundry environment. This role involves operating various laundry machines, ensuring proper garment care, and delivering excellent customer service to residents and staff alike. Duties Operate commercial-grade dryers, washers, tunnel dryers, conveyor dryers, and other laundry machinery safely and efficiently. Label garments accurately to ensure proper identification and handling throughout the laundry process. Perform specialized cleaning techniques such as dry cleaning, bleach washing, stain removal (including baking soda, hot water, cold water, and mechanical stain removal), and steam cleaning. Use garment care machines for ironing, pressing, folding, and organizing laundry items to meet quality standards. Maintain inventory tracking for laundry supplies and ensure an organized workspace for optimal workflow. Manage barrier washer operation and adhere to machine operation safety procedures at all times. Assist with cashiering duties when applicable and provide friendly customer service to residents requesting laundry services. Skills Proficiency in operating commercial laundry equipment including stackable dryers, tunnel washers, tunnel dryers, and garment care machines. Knowledge of fabric care techniques and stain removal methods using various cleaning agents such as baking soda and bleach. Ability to operate pressing machines and laundry folding machines efficiently. Strong organizational skills for maintaining an orderly workspace and tracking inventory accurately. Familiarity with safety procedures related to machine operation and chemical handling in a laundry environment. Excellent attention to detail in labeling garments and ensuring quality standards are met. Effective communication skills for interacting courteously with residents and team members. Hours available Sunday - Saturday 4pm -8:30pm Join our team to provide exceptional laundry services that contribute to the comfort and well-being of our residents in a supportive assisted living community!
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 31.5 per week
