Laundry Attendant Reports To:
Laundry Supervisor Purpose of the
Position:
Responsible for the quality of the hotel linen supply by ensuring cleanliness and maintaining high standards at all times. 1. Washes and dries all food and beverage linen. 2. Washes and dries all guest room linen. 3. Sorts all linen properly according to type and soils. 4. Processes stained linen according to established standards. 5. Presses and folds all linen neatly and according to guidelines. 6. Reports all damages, hazards or defective equipment to supervisor. 7. Stocks linen for distribution. 8. Keeps up the laundry room at all times, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance. 9. Operates ironer. 11. Logs the number of loads for washer and dryer. 12. Adheres to all policies and procedures. 13. Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures. 14. Utilizes protective equipment. 15. Reports substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor. 16. Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor. 17. Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
1. Attends company orientation. 2. Is expected to perform any related duty as requested by his/her manager. 3. Assist other laundry personnel when needed.
To Do This Kind of Work You Must Be Able To:
1. Talk to different kinds of people to give information, answer questions and provide required services. 2. Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods. 3. Lift and carry heavy loads of linen. 4. Move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to shake, sort, wash, dry, load, fold and stack linen. 5. Push heavy linen carts. 6. Reach and bend for varying lengths of time, often long periods. 7. Visually inspect linen.
Physical Demands:
Lifting thirty (30) pounds maximum, pushing one hundred (100) pound cart, frequent reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, walking, standing, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, smiling.
