Job Description

Prosper at Wickliffe is searching for a motivated individual to help carry out our core values of making life fun, making the community a home, and delivering purpose to everyone. The Laundry Assistant works with the Environmental Services Director toward the goal of providing the highest quality service to the residents, families and guests of the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Team First. Attitude is everything. Works cooperatively with residents, families, guests and staff and performs other duties as directed by the Environmental Services Director.
  • Sorts, washes, dries, folds and puts away residents' clothing, bedding, linens and other laundry while handling personal belongings with care and respect.
  • Maintains a clean, organized laundry area and properly cares for and stores laundry and cleaning equipment.
  • Follows all infection control, Standard Precautions, safety and product-use procedures.
  • Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs and other concerns to the Environmental Services Director.
  • Provides friendly, respectful service to residents, communicates resident concerns appropriately, and respects Residents' Rights and confidentiality.
  • Follows directions, works independently, and demonstrates reliability, punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Attends required staff meetings and in-service training.
Qualifications:
  • Previous laundry, housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position and complete manual work.
  • Positive, friendly attitude with the ability to work well with senior adults and as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to follow procedures, work with minimal supervision, and adapt to changing resident needs.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
