  • Job Description
  • The Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in keeping the hospital operating smoothly by handling bulk laundry and ensuring clean linens are available throughout the facility. This position focuses on lifting, sorting, and transporting clean and soiled linens using commercial linen equipment and inventory carts, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Handle bulk laundry, including lifting, sorting, and organizing clean and soiled linens.

+ Unwrap and unload clean linens from deliveries or equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Load laundry carts using inventory carts, maintaining strong attention to detail to ensure accurate linen counts.

+ Push heavy linen carts throughout the hospital and deliver products to designated departments and locations.

+ Pick up dirty linens, typically around 20 pounds, and toss them into appropriate bins or collection containers.

+ Perform general labor and janitorial duties related to laundry and housekeeping as needed.

+ Operate or assist with commercial linen equipment in accordance with safety and cleanliness standards.

+ Support environmental services and cleaning activities to maintain a sanitary hospital environment.

+ Ensure all assigned laundry tasks are completed to keep the hospital supplied and running effectively, including staying beyond scheduled hours when necessary.

+ Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while working in a hospital setting.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Ability to stand and perform manual labor for 8 or more hours per day.

+ Capability to lift and move laundry items and carts, including handling loads of approximately 20 pounds.

+ Basic English communication skills to understand instructions and interact with team members.

+ Experience or comfort with general labor tasks in a physically active role.

+ Willingness to perform janitorial duties and housekeeping tasks as part of the laundry workflow.

+ Ability to work Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and occasional overtime.

+ Reliability and commitment to completing work to support continuous hospital operations.

+ Strong attention to detail when loading inventory carts and organizing linens.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Previous laundry experience, especially in a commercial or institutional setting.

+ Familiarity with commercial linen equipment and bulk laundry handling.

+ Background in housekeeping, environmental services, or cleaning roles.

+ Comfort working in a hospital environment with established procedures and standards.

+ Ability to push and maneuver heavy carts safely through hallways and patient care areas.

+ Willingness to learn and grow into additional responsibilities as the facility expands.

  • This role is based in a climate-controlled hospital setting, providing a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.

Laundry Attendants work around commercial linen equipment, inventory carts, and heavy linen carts, frequently moving through hospital corridors and service areas. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with rotating weekends and occasional overtime, and work may extend until at least 5:00 p.m. when the hospital is busy to ensure all laundry tasks are completed. The position involves continuous standing, walking, lifting, and pushing, in a fast-paced environment where maintaining cleanliness and organization is essential.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $14.

00 - $16.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
