Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Laundry Aide works under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager. A wide range of laundry tasks are performed, including separating, loading and unloading washers and dryers, sorting, folding, weighing and distribution of clean linen. Operation of laundry equipment will be expected.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or experience: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior laundry experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Knowledge:
Must be willing to learn, identify, understand and demonstrate a working knowledge of linen processing techniques.
Skills:
Display adequate communication and customer service skills. With time and experience, expected to be proficient in their skills.
Abilities:
Need to have the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of laundry procedures and learned techniques. Ability to work under minimal direction and supervision. Requires the ability to effectively deal with the public, patients, staff, department leaders, and peers. Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instruction. #
