This role is essential to maintaining brand standards and ensuring guest satisfaction through cleanliness and comfort.
Key Responsibilities Room Stripping & Retrieval:
Periodically strip guest rooms of soiled linens and towels during laundry cycles to maintain a steady workflow for the washing and drying process.
Sorting & Processing:
Sort all linen and laundry by color, fabric type, and soil level. Pre-treat heavily stained items as needed.
Machine Operation:
Load and unload commercial washers and dryers. Select appropriate cycles and settings to prevent damage and ensure hygiene.
Chemical Management:
Safely handle and dispense laundry detergents, bleaches, and cleaning chemicals according to safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
Folding & Finishing:
Neatly fold, stack, and organize linens (sheets, pillowcases, towels, etc.) to meet specific presentation standards.
Quality Control:
Inspect all items for tears, permanent stains, or wear and tear. Remove damaged items from circulation and report inventory needs.
Inventory & Distribution:
Keep linen closets and carts stocked for the housekeeping team. Assist in periodic inventory counts.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean lint traps daily and keep the laundry room organized and free of debris. Report any equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (including heavy wet laundry and linen carts). Attention to
Detail:
High standards for cleanliness and the ability to spot minor defects or stains in linens.
Time Management:
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet daily room turnover deadlines.
Reliability:
Consistent attendance and punctuality are critical to maintaining daily hotel operations.
Communication:
Basic ability to read chemical labels and communicate effectively with housekeeping and management teams. Working Conditions This role involves frequent bending, lifting, and exposure to heat and noise from industrial machinery. Shift times vary, including weekends and holidays, depending on hotel occupancy levels.
Shift Hours :
9am- 3pm, 5-6 days a week
Pay:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour
