This Isn't Just a Nail Trim Job. At Nailed It Denver, it is never "just a nail trim." Being a technician requires more than knowing how to trim nails. We are looking for an experienced pet professional who can work independently, make good decisions, communicate with Pet Parents, and adapt their handling approach to the individual pet. Are you looking for more autonomy, more flexibility, and the opportunity to build real relationships with pets and the people who love them? Do you want management who has actually done the job you're doing and understands what it takes to do this work well without sacrificing your well-being just to increase cash flow? Who We Are We are Nailed It Denver , a mobile pet nail trim service serving the Denver metro area through house calls and Pop-Up Clinics. We specialize in behavior-first, relationship-focused nail care . Our work is not about rushing through as many pets as possible. We want to create better experiences for pets and their people while educating Pet Parents about long-term goals, not just providing an in-the-moment service. Some appointments will be easy, and some will not. We don't believe there is one handling technique that works for every pet. Who We're Looking For We are particularly interested in pet professionals with experience in: Grooming salons Dog daycare Boarding facilities Veterinary clinics Professional training Other hands-on pet-care environments A candidate with experience in both grooming and another professional pet-care setting would be especially strong. Dogs are our primary focus. Professional experience with cats and/or small animals is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone who can make sound decisions without someone standing over their shoulder, while also recognizing when something is outside their scope and asking for support when needed. We want technicians who can develop their own flow state, not "just" follow directions. We have standards for safety, communication, and service, but within those standards, we want you to bring your own personality, experience, and professional judgment to the work. This Job Is Not For Everyone We do not intentionally cause fear or distress, and we are not interested in forcing a pet through a service just to get it finished. At the same time, nail care is not always comfortable. Some pets resist. Some need clear boundaries or a break. Some require you to completely change your approach. You need to be comfortable recognizing when to continue, when to pause or change your approach, when to ask for support, and when a service needs to stop. More behaviorally complex rehabilitation cases are reserved for technicians who have demonstrated the qualifications for that level of work. You are not required to take on complex rehabilitation cases simply because you are a technician. What You'll Do Your work will include a mix of Pop-Up Clinics and house calls , depending on your qualifications, schedule, and available appointments.
You will:
Perform approved professional nail-care services. Safely handle pets within your demonstrated qualifications. Observe behavior and adapt your approach appropriately. Communicate directly with Pet Parents. Provide appropriate education and recommendations. Maintain accurate client and pet records. Work independently while following Nailed It Denver's standards and procedures. Recognize when a pet or situation requires additional support. Communicate with the team when something needs attention. Some appointments will be straightforward. Others will require observation, problem-solving, communication, and professional judgment. The goal is not for every appointment to look the same. The goal is for you to have the skills and judgment to make good decisions for the individual pet in front of you. This Is a Growing Opportunity Nailed It Denver is growing, and right now our ability to keep up with that growth is limited by how many technicians we have available. We need you. This position starts part-time at approximately 15 hours per week , with the opportunity to grow into full-time work fairly quickly as your availability and client demand increase.
Current Schedule:
House Calls:
Tuesday-Thursday Pop-Up Clinics:
Weekdays, 5-7
PM Weekend Clinics:
12-2 PM The schedule will continue to expand as additional technicians increase our availability. Compensation W-2 Employee Base hourly wage 18-20% commission $0.65/mile mileage reimbursement Applicable tips Paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado requirements Commission progression is based on demonstrated skill, independence, handling ability, and approved service scope. Advancement is based on demonstrated skill, not simply time with the company or the number of pets you can get through in a day. What We Offer Flexible scheduling Part-time to full-time growth opportunity Pop-Up and house-call work Independence and professional autonomy Professional development and hands-on learning Opportunity to develop your own professional handling style Opportunity to progress into advanced handling and behavior-focused work A team that specializes specifically in professional pet nail care Work-life balance We want technicians who can do excellent work without burning themselves out doing it. We also want you to be able to bring your own personality, experience, and professional perspective to the work. Interested in an Apprenticeship?
