The Student Centers within the Graham Center is currently seeking a Guest Services Assistant to join their team of professionals. Duties will include providing assistance at the eSports Longe and Game Room. Responsibilities amongst all areas will include providing coverage to other units as needed, completing all required student training, and representing the Division in University events such as Commencement. eSports Lounge Provide excellent customer service to all students, faculty/staff, and external guests Enforcing eSports Lounge policies and procedures Checks in and patrons wanting to use the Lounge. Assists guests with printing, photocopying, and scanning of materials. Oversees all events being hosted in the lounge such as e-sports tournaments and orientation sessions. Maintain and upkeep the appearance of the eSports Lounge. Provides good customer service to all patrons. Make recommendations for service enhancements in the eSports Lounge. Provides assistance if any of the systems are presenting an issue. Refills supplies as needed. Report faulty equipment in need of repair. Be cross trained with Game Room policies and procedures. Game Room Provide excellent customer service to all students, faculty/staff and external guests. Enforcing Game Room policies and procedures. Run gaming tournaments, events, and reservations. Assist with marketing, game tournaments, expos, karaoke, and other events and activities in the Game Room. Decorate the Game Room for special theme days, holidays, events, etc. Make recommendations for service enhancements at the Game Room. Assist with surveying Game Room patrons. Assist with the upkeep of the Game Room space. Report faulty equipment in need of repair. Be cross trained with eSports Lounge policies and procedures. Customer service knowledge None to basic level of Microsoft Word. Ability to take direction and work independently as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information. Student Assistant Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated. Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end. Hours will vary based on class schedule and departmental needs. Up to the maximum of 20 hours a week. $14.00/hour Criminal Background Check This student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.
