Job Description

Independent Contractor - Salon Manager/Operator We are seeking an experienced, licensed salon professional to independently operate and manage our on-site salon within a vibrant senior living community of more than 200 residents. This is an excellent opportunity for an established salon manager or cosmetologist looking to operate their own business with a built-in clientele in a welcoming community environment. Salon Information Approximately 625 square feet Two styling stations One pedicure chair Built-in resident clientele (outside clientele are not permitted) Salon must be open a minimum of three (3) days per week Lease amount to be discussed Water, garbage, and electricity are included in the lease Responsibilities The independent contractor will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the salon, including: Hiring, training, supervising, and releasing salon staff Managing employee relations, scheduling, and payroll Providing exceptional customer service in a professional and welcoming environment Ensuring clients with scheduled appointments are served promptly Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and professional appearance Purchasing and maintaining all salon supplies and equipment needed for operations Addressing resident requests and concerns with patience, kindness, and professionalism Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Beauty Salon Manager or similar leadership role Current California Cosmetology License Experienced in providing a full range of salon services, including: Hair cutting Shampooing Blow drying and styling Hair coloring Permanents Experience working with senior adults is required Independent, self-motivated, and highly organized Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, cleanliness, and exceptional client care Requirements The successful contractor must: Maintain all licenses and insurance required by California law, including: Business license Workers' Compensation Insurance Professional Liability Insurance Current Cosmetology License Successfully complete a background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
