Salon Manger Green Lake/Roosevelt Neighborhood Fix Salon Seattle Seattle, WA Job Details Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Employee discount Paid sick time Qualifications Vendor relationship building Google Workspace Guest relations Slack Trello Salon experience Employee relationship building Small business experience Team development Full Job Description Salon Manager Green Lake/Roosevelt, Seattle Full-Time, In-Person Includes One Weekend Day 3+ Years Experience About the Role Fix Salon Seattle is an award-winning, employee-based salon with 17 years in the Green Lake/Roosevelt neighborhood, four blocks from the Roosevelt Light Rail Station. We are looking for a confident, experienced Salon Manager to take real ownership of our day-to-day operations. This is a leadership role. It's for someone with actual salon industry experience, strong people skills, and a commitment to building and protecting a great team culture. You'll be the person keeping things running: maintaining culture, holding the team accountable, handling problems when they come up, and making sure every client has a great experience. You need to be comfortable having hard conversations and setting high expectations. Fairness and follow-through matter here. This is an operational and leadership role. You will not be working behind the chair. You'll be leading a team of about 10 people in a small business environment where relationships and accountability go hand in hand. Ownership of the Role This role has real ownership over daily operations, team accountability, and the client experience. You will work closely with the owner on larger business decisions, performance conversations, and team development. As trust is established, your independence in the role will grow. Schedule This is a full-time, in-person position. 32-40 hours per week. The schedule includes one weekend day and evening availability (7pm). Our ideal schedule is Sunday through Thursday, giving you Friday and Saturday off regularly. This may change based on support staff availability, but we do our best to maintain a healthy work/life balance schedule and prioritize the schedule needs for this role. What You'll Do Culture and Team Leadership Keep the salon culture upbeat, fair, and grounded. That means leading by example every day. Handle conflict with staff and clients directly, respectfully, and without drama. Hold the team accountable to expectations while keeping trust and morale intact. Set the standard for professionalism and client care. Others will take their cues from you. Client Experience Reinforce best practices around consultations, prebooking, and service recommendations. Step in on escalated client concerns and resolve them with confidence. Keep the focus on the full client experience, from the first visit to the next booking. Operations and Systems Manage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships. Oversee daily scheduling and floor operations. Track key numbers (prebook rates, retention, revenue) and use them to drive decisions. Build systems, document them, and hold the team to using them. Manage and monitor the salon budget. Additional Responsibilities Team Support and Development Support onboarding for new team members and help them get up to speed. Reinforce salon standards and expectations consistently. Build relationships with the team first. Deeper coaching and development responsibilities come as trust develops. Partner with the owner on performance conversations and team development. Recruiting and Hiring Support Review resumes and flag strong candidates. Conduct first-round interviews and assist throughout the hiring process. Work closely with the owner on final hiring decisions. Help with employee documentation and performance conversations while building a solid working knowledge of company policies and Washington State labor laws. What Success Looks Like After your first year, we'd expect to see: Client retention trending up Improved prebook rates Consistent team productivity Revenue growth A guest experience the team is proud of Systems You'll Use Phorest SalonScale Google Workspace Slack Trello Canva (for marketing) What We're Looking For 3 or more years in a salon leadership or management role Real working knowledge of how a salon operates, including services, client flow, and team dynamics Experience managing small business operations: ordering, budgeting, scheduling, and inventory Familiarity with salon management software (Phorest experience is a plus) Comfort with day-to-day business tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Trello, and Canva A leader who can have hard conversations calmly and fairly Emotionally steady. You do not bring drama, but you know how to handle it. Strong communicator with both staff and clients Someone who is motivated by business growth and understands how to read and use numbers You'd Thrive Here If... You get energized by helping a team do their best work. You like creating structure. Systems and organization come naturally to you. You can deliver tough feedback and still have people walk away feeling respected. You think accountability and a great culture can exist in the same place. (They can.) You genuinely care about the experience of both the clients and the people who serve them. You take initiative. You see what needs to happen and you do it without being asked. This Role Probably Is Not the Right Fit If... Hard conversations make you shut down or sidestep. You work better alone than in front of a team. Self-directed follow-through is something you struggle with. You need someone to tell you what to do next. Numbers and business metrics feel like someone else's job.
