Industrial Seamstress / Tailor - Neoprene Product Development

is a martial arts company specializing in innovative combat training equipment, including full-size anatomically correct fighting dummies and advanced neoprene-based products. We are seeking a skilled Industrial Seamstress / Tailor to join our manufacturing and R&D team in Apple Valley, CA. This role is ideal for someone experienced in industrial sewing, neoprene construction, and pattern development who enjoys both production work and hands-on product innovation. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager. Responsibilities Operate industrial sewing equipment including: Blind Stitch Machines Overlock Machines Heavy-Duty Zig-Zag Machines Walking Foot Machines Sew and assemble neoprene-based products to specification Create and develop patterns by hand and CAD software Produce prototypes, custom designs, and production-ready specifications Collaborate with the R&D team to determine optimal methods for integrating neoprene into proprietary products Interpret technical instructions, diagrams, and pattern layouts Maintain high standards of quality control and craftsmanship Assist with product refinement and manufacturing improvements Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Qualifications Minimum 3 years of industrial sewing or neoprene sewing experience Proven experience in garment construction or sewing within a manufacturing or warehouse environment Strong proficiency operating industrial sewing machines used in large-scale production Strong understanding of sewing techniques, pattern drafting, and material handling Ability to create and modify patterns both manually and using CAD software Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, diagrams, and layouts Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads safely Warehouse or production environment experience preferred Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Preferred Industry Experience Experience in any of the following industries is highly preferred:
