Responsibilities Measure clients accurately to determine necessary alterations and ensure proper garment fit Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify clothing items with precision Perform garment construction tasks such as hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing Communicate clearly with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on alterations Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in excellent condition Follow safety procedures when operating sewing machines and other equipment Complete basic math calculations for measurements, fabric adjustments, and pricing estimates Skills Proven experience in fashion retail or tailoring environments with strong garment alteration skills Proficiency in operating sewing machines and familiarity with various sewing techniques Knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and sewing patterns Excellent customer service skills with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishing touches on every garment Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and adjustments Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude Embark on a rewarding career where your tailoring expertise directly impacts customer satisfaction!
